Viola Davis (born 11 August 1965 in St. Matthews, South Carolina), is an American actress. She is the first African-American to win an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and a Tony Award - achieving the "Triple Crown of Acting." She starred in the TV series How to Get Away with Murder with actress Aja Naomi King, the Broadway plays Fences and King Hedley II, and the movies Doubt, The Help, and Widows. In 2020 she signed with L'Oreal as a beauty brand ambassador.
